One day while writing in my journal, I decided to list all the things I was or wanted to become...Monk, Author, Naturalist, Activist. For some reason, I noticed the first letters in each of these words which spelled out MANA. Because my curiousity was already piqued, I Googled MANA. To my surprise, delight, and inspiration it actually meant something:
"Mana is the spiritual life force energy or healing power that permeates the universe, in the culture of the Melanesians and Polynesians. Anyone or thing can have Mana. It is a cultivation or possession of energy and power, rather than being a source of power. It is an intentional force. To have mana implies influence, authority, and efficacy—the ability to perform in a given situation. In Hawaiian and Tahitian culture, mana is a spiritual energy and healing power which can exist in places, objects and persons." -Wikipedia
So this Blog is about continuing to exploring whatever MANA I may possess...and maybe inspiring you to delve into finding yours. The writings may be about spiritual insights I am learning. They may be something I have recently written or read that resonates with me. I may put on my outdoor education hat and share interesting facts about a discovery in Nature. It might just be one photograph or a collage. And one day my inner Rabble Rouser may respond to something political or environmental that is currently happening.
